Acts of God

7/8/2011 9:50:00 AM

There is a common idea in the media and the public at large that "Acts of God" are not covered by insurance. In truth, most homeowners policies cover a variety of "Acts of God". Specifically, the typical policy will not cover "flood" and "earthquake"; while these "Acts of God" are generally excluded, you can pay additional premium to cover them. Lightning, tornado, windstorm, falling trees, and falling objects are among the covered "Acts of God" in a typical homeowners policy in Virginia.
