If you are renting your apartment, house or condo, you should carry renters insurance. A renter’s policy will not only protect your valuables in case of a loss, but it will also protect you. Don’t get caught up in thinking that the landlord’s homeowners policy will cover you if a claim occurs, because it won’t. The policy that the landlord has protects the property you are renting, not you, the tenant.
